Power Naps: Snooze-infused Boost

Your eyelids get heavier as you reach for what was supposedly your still-warm cup of coffee that was made just this morning, only to find that you drank it all half an hour ago. You then glance at the clock on the wall, secretly hoping that it’s 5 p.m. so you can pack up and go home for the day, but it's just 1 p.m. What!

Being sleepy feels terrible; being sleepy when you’re supposed to do the most work feels even worse.

“If only I could take a quick… little… nap….”

Guess what? You probably should.

The level of concentrated work that today’s society expects from us can really take a toll on one’s true amount of rest, not to mention the stress associated with every job may even lead to deteriorating health. If you aren’t already familiar with the terms Karoshi (in Japanese) and Gwarosa (in Korean), they both essentially mean the same thing:

“Working Oneself to Death”

It is not a surprise that we, as a population, do not have enough rest. And it is exactly why we should seriously consider the benefits of power napping.

According to Mayo Clinic, it is really during these fatigued moments that a short 20-minute power nap could make a huge difference to your overall well-being. You’d be amazed to know that power napping not only gives you…
